If you have been checking out some of the top rated indoor rowing machines, then you’ve probably noticed that both the Stamina Air Rower and the Concept2 Model D are some of the best sellers on the market in 2015. As you already know, each of these are great home rower machines but they do have some different features and benefits.

As you can see, there are a number of differences between these two machines. One of the biggest differences is the price. The Stamina Air Rower is definitely the cheaper model, however you do get a lot more for the money with the Concept2 Model D.

Take a look at the warranty period for each machine – it looks like Concept2 stands behind their product more than Stamina, which can mean that you’re getting a higher quality piece of home gym equipment with the Model D rower.

Another thing that I want to point out is that with the Stamina Air rowing machine, you are basically pulling on a nylon strap that can break (some owners have reported this happening). Whereas with the Concept2 Model D you’ve got real metal, which doesn’t break as easily as nylon.

The weight capacity is another big difference between the two. In fact, you get double the capacity with the Concept2 Model D. So, if you are a heavier person who weighs more than 250 pounds, you really need to go with the Model D over the Stamina Air rower.

Are you the kind of person who likes to keep track of your workouts in an app on your phone or on your computer? Well, you’ll need to go with the Concept2 Model D since it is the only one with Bluetooth capability. It even has a USB port if you want to pull the workout logs from the performance monitor that way.

The seat height is another specification to pay close attention to. Why? Because the lower the seat, the more challenging it can be to sit down on it without injury. This is especially true for senior citizens and people who have mobility, flexibility and balance issues. If any of those describe you, then definitely go with the model D that has the higher seat.

The bottom line here is that comparing these two rowing machines is a lot like comparing a Corvette to a Corolla. Both are decent cars, but we all know that one of them is a heck of a lot better than the other. It’s the same with these two rower machines – both work well but one is a heck of a lot better machine for the money than the other. If your budget can affor the Model D, it is definitely the better choice.
